Alternate Pilot

Postby JetJockey » Wed Feb 29, 2012 9:17 pm

Just in case you are starting a list of wishes . . . I can't think of anything more than a panel mounted clock and maybe an alternate pilot or two. Maybe an old pilot, like the ponytail's grandfather would be a good start. After all, he probably built the RV7 for her.

Need to work on resolution but . . an idea. :?

Fantastic! :D That's actually the perfect choice.
Ray, where is the pilot picture from? is it from an FS add-on?

By the way, the pilot has been a bit of a contentious choice for many users. Let me explain...I had to look at the model a whole lot over the past few years :D So the choice had to be pleasing to the eye. I appreciate some users don’t just look at her they imagine they are her, so I’m aware this can cause some confusion, lol :D. Agreed. The addition of a male has also been on the radar from the time the female pilot was created. It's all been a matter of prioritizing the tasks. It does seem the time to start this work is close at hand.
Cheers, :D
Danny

PS.
Common question: Why is the pilot smiling?
Answer: First lookup RV Grin. ‘RV Grin’ is part of RV tradition. It's a rite of a passage.

I agree! Someone in my age range....but I still have my hair. But a cap/hat at least is a must.

How about a old, bald, grandfather with a Titlest golf hat? That is removable and a full head of hair. Ha. all clickable options. Yea, lets load up Danny with so many suggestions that he gives up before he starts.

I agree with Ray, the possibility of being able to change the pilot (or to add a passenger) would be welcome.
(I believe that the question had already asked in the past).
The gentleman proposed here is very well, even if he is bald !
Yes, the possibility of choosing a male pilot would be appreciated.

I would also like to be able to select a passenger or two. Maybe we could have the clickable option of 'Ponytail' as a passenger when 'Grandpa' or Dad is at the controls. Now wouldn't that be unique? I also like the idea of a Titlest Golf hat as a clickable option.

We have seen sunglasses on and off for quite some time now and JustFlight has had the pilot as passengers options for several years so it centainly can be done. The JF addons have the option of using your own photo and cropping to fit for the pilot. Not real high resolution, but neat anyway.

And everyone knows the animated Heidi as a passenger in the A2A Cub. 8)

Changeable pilots/passengers would be nice, but I have to say that, being female myself, I love the current model! (I just wish I was that age again.)

I was one that requested a male pilot graphic some time ago. I'm also one of those that pictures themselves in the cockpit, and that grinning pretty girl kills the immersion factor for me...

I thought the two pilots in Carenado's C-337 were excellently done. They even turn their heads slowly from side to side. Not sure if that type of animation is possible here but worth a shot. Another nice depiction is the one found in Aerosoft's Diamond Katana 4X. Just throwing some examples out there.

I've got to say that when I'm flying my RV I never get to see the girl. Of course, if you spend a lot of time outside the cockpit you see a lot of her. For me, there is no 'immersion' while you're taking screen shots!

Alexander, but you've missed our animations  There's scan, and pitch, roll, yaw, and slip reactions :D
