Ok first test : the command from the keyboard works ;) (IE : ctrl+win+ F4-f5..etc.)

So in answer to the first question : Yes, the new RXPGNS.INI file works :)

Deleted from the FSX.CFG the file in the trusted section : ...GAUGES\btsRXP.DLL.lthweihauntrruoraobqublqunkkntacwieiweac=2

Launched again FSX.

RV/ is the default flight, it didnt requested to trust the gauge.

Changed version, from RV7 to RV7a for a test, again no request.

It works as previous (respond to the keyboard press, but not to the mouse pressure).

closed again FSX and opened again FSX.CFG, the file it has been created again in FSX.CFG : C:\Programmi\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\GAUGES\btsRXP.DLL.lthweihauntrruoraobqublqunkkntacwieiweac=2

But no request to thrust.

Let me know what other check can be done ;)

EDIT : this should it be the relevant portion of the panel.cfg ? :
// =====================================
// GNS530
// =====================================

[Window02]
position=8
size_mm=300,216
visible=0
ident=15531

gauge00=rxpGNS!gns530, 0,0,300,216

// =====================================
// Digiflight IIVS
// =====================================

[Window03]
size_mm=128,128
background_color= 0, 0, 0
position=6
visible=0
ident=10000

gauge00=btsRV7!digiFlightIIVS_2D, 0,0,128,128

I can see there is a btsRV7!* file in theDigifligt section, none in the 530 (or better, is a default one ?)
EDIT 2 :
checked the content of the original : C_rxp_PANEL.CFG in the rxp:install folder (the one that come with the installation) here is the relevant section :
// =====================================
// GNS530
// =====================================

[Window02]
position=8
size_mm=300,216
visible=0
ident=15531

gauge00=rxpGNS!gns530, 0,0,300,216

also there looks like there is no : "btsRV7!* " file. I think that if you can send me a new one this should fix :)
thanks again for the support

Having just bought the GNS 530 can I ask

Will copying and overwrite the file "Copy a_key_RXPGNS.INI rename it RXPGNS.INI and move it to this location (use winXP or win7)**:" mess up my RealAir Turbine Duke install.
Also will it look all 3D like in the Duke? anyone got a SS of it working.

Now I only fly 2 GA's I've binned everything to just leave the Duke and the RV-7, so it would be great to see the 530 working and looking great within the RV.

SS would be great.

David.

Hi Ventrue, Great to hear RXPGNS.INI is working now.
I think this was your primary problem so we're close to getting it working.

Try deleting your RV-7 default flight. Use a default FSX aircraft, like the Cessna, for now as your default flight. Loading the RV from the Aircraft Select screen ensures it initializes properly. If changes are made to an aircraft after it’s been saved as a default flight I believe it risks not initializing properly. Once you have everything working then the RV can be used for your default flight, that’s what I do. But I’m always aware using add-ons as a default can be a source of complications.

The final step is to get FSX to ask to add btsRXP.DLL to your trusted gauges. Make sure it's still not included in your FSX.cfg - you want to see and confirm the pop-up window when FSX adds it. Your panel.cfg includes btsRXP.DLL - so it's correct , you will want to also confirm it's included in all four panel.cfg files (7sldr, 7tip, 7Asldr, 7Atip)

It's unlikely you have a missing gauge files, but here's the list of RV items in your gauge folder...

  • btsRV7_configG/configGlobal.xml
  • btsENG.dll
  • btsRV7.CAB
  • btsRXP.dll
  • btsSND.dll
  • btsXML.dll

Hi David, The Duke doesn't use RXPGNS.INI so there's no conflict.
RXPGNS.INI is used to link your RXP GNS to hardware controllers like goFlight.
This file manages the keyboard shortcuts for your RXP gauges.
By default there are no keyboard shortcuts defined....all we are doing is defining some shortcuts to use.
The RV will read RXPGNS.INI and link animated 3D buttons to functions that have shortcuts defined.
The key combination of the shortcut doesn't matter as long as it has shortcut defined.
You can make up your own or use any pre-existing shortcuts you've created.

You may want to open your RXPGNS.INI and confirm there are no defined shortcuts.
Unless you've setup your RXP GNS to link to a hardware controller your RXPGNS.INI will be empty.
You do not actually have to use the keyboard shortcuts I've provided in a_key_RXPGNS.INI...
You just need to confirm you have a shortcut for all the functions in the RV's GNS stack.

Hello Maherd,
followed your instruction.
Set the cessna 172 as default flight.
Deleted from the trusted in the FSX.CFG the file.
launched FSX and gone to RV7,
FSX asked me to trust the gauge.
Nothing changed, same as before.

By the way, i have all the file needed in the gauge folder, checked ;).

After each test i checked with other planes with the RXP530 installed (Duke, carenado,tecnam Sierra) and it works also in VC :(.

Looks like the trouble is only with the RV7.

Well so far we know, RXPGNS.INI is working as it should and the btsRXP!interface gauge is loading.
btsRXP!interface can be configured to write a log file. The information in the log should help.

Open the panel.cfg of the RV you are testing with.
Go to the [VCockpit01] section and add a ",1" to the end of the btsRXP!interface parameters.
It should look like this...

Code: Select all
gauge09=btsRXP!interface, 0,0,0,0,1

After you run FSX, load RV7, and try to use the Garmin gauges, btsRXP!interface will write a log file.
Look for it in your FSX folder, it will be called dsd_RXP_Interface.txt
Copy and paste the contents of the log in a reply.

Interface Log Path
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\dsd_RXP_Interface.txt

This just confirms btsRXP!interface is searching for shortcuts in the following loaction.
Can you browse to this location and send me this file by email.

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Reality XP\Common\Settings\RXPGNS.INI
