Thank you for the email and files. I know they are all there but I cant get them to work as its still saying invalid licence. when i copied the baytowerdll file I know it was there in syswow because it asked me if I wanted to copy over it. Must be permissions somewhere in windows that i have to fix. dont know if its in windows explorer or where. am going to look around. I have all the guages on the runway as they all seem to work. All i did was delete the btssound file and did not touch anything else and they all seem to work. will keep checking back.

Yeah, i got it figured out! Once all the files were verified in the right place I had to go thru and allow permissions! Not sure why windows is so sensitive with files but i'm tired of microsoft security. They need to make an os that is flightsim friendly. Thanks for all your help I learned a couple things in process! Thanks for designing one of the funnest and most beautiful planes in fsx. Wish I could afford real one! Your plane could be ranked top 3 single engine ga for fsx! Sincerely, mason

What are the other two? For me, Sibwings BirdDog and, and , and...No, can't think of another one offhand.
Glad you got sorted Mason. :)

Installing any Flight1 wrapped program on a Win7 64bit system should work most of the time without fail, even if the user has installed FSX outside of the default path. I've been doing so for years without issue...

...provided one right-clicks on the Flight1 executable and "Run as Administrator"

However, for the possible benefit of anyone who does experience problems, the one sure-fire method to successfully overcome installaton failures is to reboot the computer into "Safe Mode with Network Support" then run the Flight1 Installer program as Administrator, and allow it to run to completion. Doing this bypasses all of the Win7 "Protection/Permission" safeguards. Reboot the computer into normal mode afterwards of course.

Just for general information, none of these problems will occur is the user has taken the steps to set their User Account to always be loaded as the "Super Administrator."

Ok, sorry to bother you guys again but this has to be license issue. When i start plane wings and canopy disappear! Not sure how long it has been like this but at least i got the full aircraft on the runway now. Am going to check on flight1 website again to see if aircraft is validated. Is there some file i can use to prove purchase? I can get the key and order number page but not sure how to post it. Thanks for your time! I am going to do the safe mode with networking as i did not know about that and this should work. I already checked the F1 installer to make sure it was on admin rights so that isnt it. will get back to you, thanks again

Hi Mason, make sure you are using the original panel.cfg...to confirm all gauges are active again. I imagine if you do a fresh reinstall with "Run as Administrator" this will fix itself. Mason thanks for keeping at it. We're all learning here so you're helping in a big way. Bill's tip is extremely helpfull. We just have to get past the Win7 permissions one way or another ;)

Hi

I too have the problem of CTD when starting the plane.
I read all the posts on it,but think that the publisher needs to sort this out.
Please check and issue an update with correct directions.
My computer spec's are:
Nvidia 8800GTX graphic display card ,8 Gb Ram,Win 7 64Bit
All drivers are up to date and your installer is V01.06.08

Bye,

David

Hi David,
Win7 has some added security features, which is a good thing in the fight against malware. But it does mean one needs Administration Privileges to install certain software. From what I understand this restriction is a Window's preference and some users are running with reduced settings to avoid it. This may or may not be a good thing, depending on how comfortable a user is managing Windows.

Here are the step by step instructions you should use...

a) Uninstall RV-7
    Run the uninstall script:
    Start > All Programs > BayTower > VANS-RV7 > Uninstall > Uninstall_RV7_v01-06-08

b) Reinstall RV-7 using admin privileges:
Right-click on your Flight1 RV-7 installer and select "Run as administrator"
Use the Click Here to Reinstall option.
You'll need to refer to your Flight1 email for your key file and password.
Your password is also available here: www.flight1.com lostPassWord

And yes, I agree adding a warning to the installer is a good idea. It would help avoid this issue.
Let me know if this works, there's another step we can take if not.

Hi Danny

I am really using the plane in Prepar3D
So I unsigned the specific gtx327 gauge in all 4 Panel files as you explained elsewhere in the forum
and now it is working fine.(without the transponder). :D
